And like every self-respecting Christmas, the magic of this period also passes through the wooden houses of the Christmas markets. Inevitable to increase the fairy and muffled atmosphere, rich in typical and themed products, sweets and delicacies, to be watered with excellent mulled wine to warm the colder evenings. The wonder of these initiatives is not only to offer local handicraft products, but also to create a family union between citizens and tourists, in a climate of hospitality and friendship.
We follow in the footsteps of Santa Claus and do a little tour of Veneto together, in search of the authentic Christmas spirit.
The Mestre market: in the name of tradition
Among the stops on your Christmas tour in the Veneto region is the characteristic Christmas market in Mestre. In fact, iazza Ferretto, Via Poerio e Via Allegri host a conspicuous series of stalls selling typical gastronomic products, handicrafts and Christmas decorations. Among the delicacies that must absolutely be tasted, the typical buranelli biscuits, local cheeses and wines and the ever-present hot chocolate. For the little ones there is the magical appointment at the end of the weekend with Santa Claus and his right arm, the Elf: for incredible selfies with the legendary Santa Claus!

The Village of Santa Claus in Cavallino-Treporti
The municipality of Cavallino-Treporti also offers its special homage to Christmas with the organization of a characteristic market. The event will take place in the Market Area, where about forty vendors will involve you in the typical Christmas atmosphere, with the setting up of a characteristic bazaar. Absolutely not to be missed is the Village of Santa Claus, where, sheltered from the rigors of winter, you can abandon yourself to the joys of Christmas, tasting goodies and buying Christmas nativity scenes and decorations.
The market will take place at the IAT in Via Fausta on the following days and times:
- from 12.19.2019 to 01.01.2020 from 12.30 to 22.30.
Caorle Wonderland: a piece of Lapland in the Veneto region
One of the unmissable Christmas events in the Veneto region is certainly Caorle Wonderland, the Christmas Market in Caorle, in the province of Venice. The event, in its second edition, will take place starting December 6th in the center of the Venetian town. For a month Caorle will be transformed into a paradise for children and families: ice sculptures, the home of Santa Claus, the chocolate factory, these are the main attractions of the event. The event will also be enriched by the presence of illusionists and magicians, rides and artistic shows, and it will obviously also be an opportunity to taste the typical Christmas culinary specialties. What are you waiting for, Lapland is not that far away!
The Caorle Christmas market will take place in Piazza Papa Giovanni from 6/12/2019 to 6/01/2020 in the following ways:
- December 6 from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
- 7, 8, 14 and 15 December from 10:00 to 20:00
- from 21 December to 6 January weekdays from 14:00 to 22:00 holidays from 10:00 to 20:00
For the youngest, the event continues until 2:00 am in the Young Sound Beach area.
The market of Castelfranco Veneto: a Christmas with Giorgione
As every year, Castelfranco Veneto, the homeland of the great painter Giorgione, organized the Christmas festival under the walls. The typical Christmas market is set up against the walls of the city castle to offer the visitor a Christmas full of joy and joy. Crafts, gastronomy, Christmas decorations: these are the protagonists of Christmas made in Castelfranco. The organization of a large Living Nativity and the closing of the festivities with the characteristic Flight of the Epiphany are the two gems that make Christmas in Castelfranco unmissable.
Christmas under the walls takes place in the public gardens of the walls of the Castle of Castelfranco from 23 / 11.2019 to 06.01.2020 from 10:00 to 19:00 in the following ways:

The Christmas Village in Jesolo: like in Scandinavia
Also this year the town of Jesolo has organized one of the most characteristic Christmas events of the entire region: the Christmas Village. The Venetian municipality, in fact, has been transformed for more than a month into an authentic Scandinavian village with the construction of about seventy wooden houses, very original stands where you can satisfy your "Christmas consumption fever". Among the main attractions, the inevitable Santa Claus, a macroscopic Christmas tree and an ice skating rink. The icing on the cake is the Winter Train, the train that will allow you to move from one point of the "Jesolo lappone" to another.
The Christmas Village has free admission and takes place between Piazza Mazzini, Via Trentin and Piazza Aurora. It will be open from 11.31.2019 to 06.01.2020 in the following ways:

Christmas in Bardolino: on the shores of Lake Garda
One of the most prestigious Christmas events in Veneto is certainly the Bardolino Christmas Market, inaugurated on November 23rd. The event takes place mainly on the lakeside of the town, against the backdrop of the magnificent Lake Garda. Here they exhibit their products the best companies in the food and wine sector and local crafts in a series of characteristic wooden houses. And not only. The Christmas atmosphere will also involve the historic center of the city of Verona, with its numerous events: during the 44 days of opening, in fact, 60 events will make Christmas in Bardolino a unique and unrepeatable experience.
The Market takes place on the Lungolago Riva Cornicello, in Piazza del Porto and in the historic center on the following days:
